CEO & Founder, Darrien Johnson, is a North Philadelphia native who has inspired many others through her shared experiences and love for the community. Having overcome many of life's unique challenges early on, Darrien has dedicated her life's work to strengthening grassroots organizations and healing Philadelphia families.
Now, having received her Bachelor's of Science in Public Health and Master's of Science in Non-Profit Management, Darrien has built The Community Curator to be a resource, a solution, and, furthermore, a love letter for her hometown.

The Educator
In 2021 Darrien received the opportunity to return to her highschool alma mater, Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School where taught Servant Leadership and Women's Rites of Passage to students in grades 9-12th.To date Darrien has taught over 600 students in the classroom.

The Advocate
After discovering her passion for advocacy, Darrien began to join movements and collectives working to mobilize others around issues pressing their community. Throughout the years she has even co-organized marches of her own. ​
